ACAD and The Phi Beta Kappa Society (PBK) are happy to collaborate on our sixth joint conference on the liberal arts and liberal arts education--Catching the Wave: Energy and Renewal in Liberal Arts Education. We are very pleased to announce that our conference plenary speakers are Earl Lewis, President of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and Georgia Nugent, President Emerita of Kenyon College.

Catching the Wave Final Program

Registration for the conference opens March 1, 2016.  Registration includes all sessions, three plenary sessions, continental breakfast Friday and Saturday and two receptions.

Fees for registration are:

                                  By April 15    By May 27    By June 21

ACAD/PBK member      $305              $335              $380

Non-member:                  $340              $375              $425

After June 21 registrations are on site and will be charged full rate of $425.

The conference is being held at the InterContinental Hotel Milwaukee located at 139 E. Kilbourn Ave., Milwaukee, WI.  The conference rate of $175 per night, plus tax and fees, will be honored until June 6.

After June 6th, ACAD will be holding a few rooms for late registrants at the conference rate.  Please contact ACAD directly at 202-884-7419 to make a reservation.  ACAD will release these rooms on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cancellation policy:  A $100 processing fee will be deducted from all cancellations.  No refunds will be made on any cancellations received after June 10, 2016.  All cancellations must be submitted in writing and can be sent by fax (202-265-9532), email ( with Cancellation in subject line, or mail (ACAD, 1818 R Street, NW, Washington, DC 20009).
